KESSEL TO IR WITH MONONUCLEOSIS

The San Jose of the Eastern Conference has lost their leading scorer for at least one week due to mononucleosis.

That's right, mono.

No word yet whether the rest of the team has contracted the chicken pox or is considering constructing Valentine's Day card holders for their lockers and exchanging construction paper made masterpieces to celebrate the Bruin's best first half of the season in recent memory.

The Boston Globe is reporting that Phil Kessel could be out at least a month.  Kessel was diagnosed with the illness on Monday afternoon although it's not immediately known how long Kessel has been playing tonsil hock....er.....felt "under the weather".  The 21 year-old right winger has four points since Christmas.

The next month does not get easy for the Bruins with two games against each second-place and division rival Montreal, and the red-hot Capitals (not to mention the Jesus-like Sharks and the top three teams from the Atlantic Division).

No word yet on whether Claude Julien will be checking the rest of the Bruins' girlfriends drivers licenses or searching lockers for the Twilight series of books.
